So, it’s been a while since I posted our weight loss numbers. To review, our goal for the year is to lose a combined 100 pounds! (John wants to lose 70 lbs. and Monica 30lbs.) We’re about halfway through the year and here are our results:
As you can see we’re making progress and almost half way there. John has been doing extremely well at counting his calories and resisting temptation. Me, not […]
These last two weeks have been a little discouraging. I was determined to excersice at least 3 times a week and drink plenty of water. Alas, I failed miserably. On the other hand, John is still making steady progress!
Looking back, I can identify two reasons why I struggled these last two weeks.
1. I was sick for a large part of the time. Fulfilling all of my mommy/teacher/homemaker duties took up most of […]
Let me just start with saying how thankful I am for freezer cooking. I’ve been sick for almost a week now and having meals in the freezer, ready to go has been such a blessing!
Here’s what happened on day 2 of my March 30 Meals in a Day cooking adventure. (Really, it’s more like 30 meals in two days, because I realized after my first try that this would be much easier for me […]
John and I are both a little disappointed with our weight loss (or lack thereof) over the last two weeks. We both lost weight, just not as much as we had hoped for. John’s goal for the next week is to lose 5 pounds and my goal is 2 pounds.
Here are the numbers for our 5th weigh-in.
John and I have both been very careful about what we eat and how much […]
I can’t believe it’s already been eight weeks since John and I started out on our weight loss journey. I have now lost a total of 11.4 pounds and am finally starting to notice the weight loss when I put on my jeans and look in the mirror. John managed to lose 2 pounds since our last weigh-in, even though he spent several days out of town for work. You can imagine how challenging it […]
Looking for a low calorie treat? Check out these Fudgy Mocha Toffee Brownies. We love these and will definitely make them again.
The recipe makes 20 servings and each serving is 145 calories (or 3 WW points).
For my February 30 Meals in a Day cooking session, I made this fabulous Taco Soup for the first time. I tripled this super easy recipe which made enough for four meals.
The entire family loves it. The kids even ask for seconds and thirds! The seasoning is perfect and at only 237 calories per serving an excellent choice for our low calorie diet.
Have you tried out a new dinner recipe lately?
Last week, I came across this article about a couple that lost a combined 285 pounds! What an accomplishment! It reminded me of what John and I have set out to achieve this year and that it can be done.
I was particularly drawn to the before and after pictures. The after picture really helped me stay on track this week. Beyond the health benefits of weight loss I am also looking forward to a […]
I am so excited that I lost 3.6 lbs. since the last (disappointing) weigh-in. I’ve almost lost a total of 10 lbs. so far and am seeing numbers on the scale I haven’t seen in years. It feels great! John is also doing super. He lost 5 lbs. since the last wigh-in for a total of 14 lbs.!
At our last weigh-in I identified two reasons for the lack (well really my lack) of […]
