Today may very well have been the last warm day of the year. The temperatures are supposed to drop into the 30s later this week and I do not want to be raking leaves and planting bulbs when it gets that cold.

So, we’ve spent these last nice days winterizing the garden. Our clean-up mostly consisted of raking leaves, mowing, cutting back perennials, pulling annuals and cleaning up flower beds.

Spring Garden 2013 ~ Update #1

The weather has been so beautiful and the plants have been loving it. Here’s how things look just ten days since my first day working out in the garden.

The daylilies, forget-me-nots, hostas and peonies are pushing through.

Spring is here

The weather has been fabulous here in central Ohio. I can’t believe we’re enjoying this warm, sunshiny weather in March! Yesterday, the kids and I took advantage of the weather and cleaned up the flower beds, picked up sticks, and started edging.

Every year I plan on taking pictures of all the flower varieties in our garden. So, here’s what’s blooming in our garden today.
