Quick Tip #6 – How to pick out and slice a Pineapple

How to choose and slice a pineapple

Here is some advice one of my college friends from Hawaii gave me on how to pick out the perfect pineapple and then slice it. They were on sale this week, so I couldn’t resist picking up a couple.

Quick Tip #5 – Bread Crumbs

Ever wonder what to do with those bread heels no one wants to eat? How about using them to make bread crumbs. Bread crumbs are great for meatloaf or meatballs.

Quick Tip #4 – Make your own All-Purpose Cleaner

Several months ago, I ran out of all-purpose cleaner and didn’t want to run to the store. I found that you can make your own cleaner with white vinegar and water. So simple.

Combine 2 parts water with 1 part vinegar and poor it into a spray bottle. (I just recycled an old spray bottle.)

This works great for counters, mirrors, windows, etc. The vinegar smell disappears very quickly.

Quick Tip #2 – How to keep cut flowers looking nice

To keep store bought cut flowers looking nice longer, I change out the water, remove discolored leaves and cut about an inch off the stem. Make sure you cut the stems at an angle. Then simply rearrange the flowers and they’re ready to brighten up your space for a little while longer. I recommend doing this every 4-7 days.

Quick Tip #1 – Keep a healthy snack in your fridge

Keep carrot sticks in your fridge for a quick and healthy snack.

Every week I cut up a bag of carrots into carrot sticks and store them in the fridge. I add a little water to the container to keep the carrots moist and crunchy.
