I’m so glad you stopped by. I’m Monica Rudy, wife to John and homeschooling mom of Clara (11) and Nicholas (8). In addition to my homemaking adventures, I teach piano out of my home studio and early childhood music classes for our local Parks & Recreation department. My love for God and children has also led me to serve in our children’s ministry at church and to host a Bible club in our home.
Why Homemaking with Monica?
I played with the idea of starting a blog for almost a year. I have so many ideas floating around in my head and thought this would be a fun way to collect them, try them out and share them. My goal for Homemaking with Monica, is to share my homemaking successes and failures, in the hopes that they inspire and encourage you. The topics covered in this blog range from recipes, to art and craft activities, party games, decorating, entertaining and much more.
More About Monica
I grew up in Southern Germany as the eldest daughter of church planting missionaries. You might notice that I occasionally share German recipes, crafts, and traditions and now you know why. I come from a tight knit family and have four sisters and three brothers. Our growing up years were never dull and the stories told at family functions are legendary.
In addition to teaching music, I have had many performing and several recording opportunities. I enjoy playing at church, especially with my family on Christmas Eve. For several years I was privileged to perform with the Early Interval during which time we recorded a Mediterranean Twelfth Night. I also had the opportunity to record The Pappas Family Recorder Quartet, in 2002 along with three of my siblings.
