How to Clean Grout with Baking Soda and Vinegar

So, I’m not exactly in love with the tile floor in our entry way, but it is in good shape and replacing it just isn’t a priority. The dirty, dark grout, however, was not something I could live with. I suspected it might have originally been lighter and after test scrubbing an area, my suspicions were confirmed.

Supplies needed:

  • baking soda
  • white vinegar
  • scrub brush
  • lots of elbow grease 😉

Here’s what I did:

1. Pour baking soda on the grout lines.

2. Pour vinegar on the grout lines and let sit about 5 minutes.

3. Start scrubbing away.

4. Wipe dry. (I used paper towels)

5. Wipe off remaining residue with vinegar and paper towels.

Note- It’s best to work in small sections.

Here are the after pics. So. Much. Better.
