Party Food – Appetizers and Dessert

party food - shower appetizers

Pin it here.

Last week, Clara and I hosted a lot of family for a bridal shower. It took place in the evening, so the “spread” was pretty much dinner for most people. Our goal was to serve a variety of food so that each person could find at least one thing they would like.

I thought it would be fun to share what we served and to give you some ideas for your next party. Every dish was a success evidenced by the fact that not much was left over 😉 . Just enough for the boys {especially Nick who was hoping for leftovers} to enjoy some of the goodies as well.

Here’s the menu:

1. Brownie Batter Dip

Brownie Batter Dip

What a fun sweet treat. Excellent for kids!
The best thing about this dip is that you can prepare it ahead of time.
You can find the brownie batter dip recipe here.

2. Bacon Cream Cheese Bread Dip

bacon cream cheese bread dip

Best dip ever! Every last bit disappeared {rather quickly, I might add 😉 }.
I served this straight out of the oven with two sliced loaves of artisan bread, one white and one multigrain.
You can find the recipe for this fabulous bacon cream cheese bread dip here.

3. Bacon Crisps

Bacon Crisps

Bacon wrapped around crackers topped with Parmesan cheese. Need I say more.
Check out the recipe here.

4. Tex Mex Salsa

Tex Mex Salsa

Super easy salsa and great for making ahead of time.
We served this with Tostitos Multigrain Scoops. Very flavorful!
Check out the tex mex salsa recipe here.

5. Veggies and Dip

Veggies and Dip

To make the dip, I mixed a package of Ranch Valley dip mix into 16oz. of sour cream.
I used a hollowed out red bell pepper as dip bowl. Serve with your choice of fresh veggies.

6. Strawberry Chocolate Trifle

strawberry chocolate trifle

One of our favorite family desserts, chocolate and strawberries. Yum!
Check out this trifle recipe here.

Note- I also served a tray of fresh fruit, but didn’t take a picture.

Here are our guests enjoying the food.

Helen's shower

I finally figured out how to use the pano setting on my phone’s camera. Pretty sure I’ll be using that setting more often now. {FYI – You can see the shabby chic picture garland I made in the background.}
