Master Bedroom Makeover

It’s been a busy summer. Lots of activities- vacation, string camp, 4-H, and lots of home improvements.

I’ll try to post a summer recap post in the next few days, but for now I’ll share our master bedroom makeover. {I did promise my faithful facebook followers that I would do so!} It’s something we decided to do for our 15 year anniversary which was almost a year ago. Ahem.

I kind of forgot to take a bunch of pictures of the before, so this one will have to do. My main goal for the makeover was to brighten the room up and not lose storage. Also, John was hoping for a bed we didn’t have to climb up into.

We had been looking at beds for quite a while. Every time we went to IKEA we would look at all our options and go back and forth. Finally, we pulled the trigger and made a purchase.

So, without further ado, here’s the new room!

I am most proud of my window covering solution above the bed. I didn’t want the window covered during the day like before. I also didn’t want to have to climb on the bed to open and close curtains. So, after some Pinterest research, I adapted several ideas and came up with this sliding canvas solution. It’ s super easy. All you need is the Kvartal single track rail, wall hardware, canvas and screw hooks.

You all know it takes me forever to make home decorating decisions, so, the canvas is still white. I’ve got some ideas and welcome any of your thoughts as well! Just leave me a comment below.

Shopping List

For those of you interested in what we bought for this makeover, check out the list below.

1. I painted the walls New Day by Behr.

2. Here’s what we purchased from IKEA:

3. The comforter cover was purchased at Kohls.

4. The Steiff bunny was a gift from my sister. I love him!

I’d love to stay connected.
