Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2014!

I just want to start out by thanking all of you for your support over the past year. Your comments and feedback are what makes working on this blog such an enjoyable journey. It’s been my best blog year so far, thanks to you! I have some exciting things planned for this year and look forward to sharing them with you in the future.

Our Family Vacation

We are back home after some time away over the Christmas break. We had a wonderful time visiting with family and just plain getting away from it all.

Here’s a little glimpse into what we’ve been up to.

What would Christmas be without Legos. {Tip – keep an eye on the Amazon Lego prices and make a purchase when you see them marked down 25-30%. Don’t hesitate, because the price can go back up the next day.}

On Christmas day, we traveled to North Carolina for a visit with my brothers. Obviously, we had a terrific time, because I didn’t take any pictures. :(

Then we moved on to St. Augustine, Florida, where we spent the rest of our break.

Here’s the view from our rental condo balcony.

We took many walks on the beach and had fun searching for shells. {I see shell crafts in our future. ;)}

We visited the Castillo De San Marcos National Monument. The kids had fun completing the Junior Ranger program and earned their badges. {FYI – If you cannot visit the Castillo de San Marcos, you can still experience the National Parks by becoming an NPS Web Ranger!}

We enjoyed strolling through the charming old town.

Here’s the oldest wood school house in the United States.

Nicholas wanted to climb the St. Augustine lighthouse. After climbing the Eiffel Tower and the tallest church steeple in the world last summer, these 200 steps were a piece of cake.

It was nice to get away and reflect on all that happened in 2013. Now we’re back home and back into our routine.

I’d love to stay connected.
