Here’s another one of Wilda’s Recipes I thought you all might like. {I talk about the recipe book here.} It’s a tasty old-fashioned recipe. Works great for freezer cooking, too!

The recipe has been slightly adapted from the original. We used chicken instead of turkey and olives instead of green pepper and pimento. Since no one in our family loves the taste of mushrooms we used cream of chicken […]

A Piano Performance: Dream

Yesterday was a big day for Clara. She participated in the Columbus Symphony’s Young Musicians Competition. She did a wonderful job.

In her division they aren’t really competing against each other, but it was a good experience of what the setting is like for the concerto competition {which she really wants to participate in when she’s older.} She performed on a stage in a large auditorium with 3 judges and a small audience.

I thought […]

I have something special to share with you today!

This ham loaf recipe comes from a cookbook called Wilda’s Recipes.

Here’s what I did. It’s actually an easy process and works!

1. Divide the shells into two categories: Strong and sturdy vs. delicate

2. Mix equal parts water and bleach into […]

Book List of Read-Aloud Animal Stories

Book list of animal books for kids.

I am currently reading Ginger Pye by Eleanor Estes to the kids in the evenings. It’s a delightfully fun book with a little bit of mystery and suspense. You know it’s a good book when the kids beg for one more chapter because they can’t wait to find out what happens next.

While pondering the books we’ve read this school year, it occurred to me that we’ve been reading a […]

Backyard Birds

We have a new passion at the Rudy household. Birding!

This won’t come as a complete surprise to my facebook followers. You’ve already met papa cardinal who comes to visit me every morning.

It all started, because Clara has chosen Ohio birds for her 4-H project this year. Since then, we’ve discovered several bird enthusiasts among our acquaintances. They have shared different ways for us to get involved in the […]
