Goals Update ~ June 2013

Goals for 2013

Thanks, dear readers, for following me on my journey of completing my goals for 2013. I can’t believe the year is almost half way over. A lot has been accomplished so far, but there’s much yet to be done.

Here’s what happened in May.

Personal Goals

Complete a Bible Reading Plan. Missed a few days this month. I let myself get distracted by all the goings on, but I’m back on track. :) You can follow my reading plan here.

Memorize Ephesians. I have not been following  my Ephesians memorization plan at all and am hoping to make significant progress over the summer. In fact, I’ve already put the flash cards in my purse.

Continue with Church Involvement. I took a little break from my teaching responsibilities this month. Vacation Bible School planning is moving full stem ahead. It starts next week! If you’re in the central Ohio area you should check it out – The Armor of God – an adventure into God’s Word. You can register here.

Write and Publish an Ebook. Absolutely NO work got done. :(

Lose 20 pounds by the end of July. I made great progress again in May and lost another 5 lbs.! That’s 10 lbs. total so far! Check out some of my recent meal menus. Healthy eating does make a huge difference, and the fact that it’s nice out and I can spend hours working out in the garden. :)

Financial Goals

I made the mistake this May and didn’t pull out my cash right away, so I resorted to using the debit card and didn’t stay within my budget. Bad girl!

No new home improvements to report on, but I really want to work on the front door. Thanks for all your input!

Blogging Goals

Design a Blog Logo. No news yet.

Update the Blog Design. Nothing new this month.

Develop a Blogging Routine/Schedule. I can’t say there was much of a routine to my blogging in May. So many recitals, assessments and end of school activities taking up my time.

Family Goals

Add Bible reading to our evening family time. As I mentioned last month, I moved this time to the morning for now. We’ve been reading through the topics covered in this guide Wise Words for Moms by Ginger Plowman. Very relevant for kids and moms!

Learn one hymn a month. I may be cancelling this goal.

Continue to host Bible Club. We met once in May.

Homeschool Goals

Continue swim lessons. Both kids completed their lessons for the school year and have come so incredibly far. They can now both swim without floaties in the deep end {with supervision, of course!}

Add science lessons. This may turn into a summer project.

Start a Germany/France study. Clara is continuing her Rosetta Stone German lessons.

Complete read-aloud book list. We almost completed George Muller: The Guardian of Bristol’s Orphans (Christian Heroes: Then & Now).

How are you doing with your goals for 2013? Please leave a link if you blogged about this recently or just leave a comment. :)
