Ephesians Memorization Plan ~ Chapter 1

Ephesians Bible Memorization Plan

One of my goals for the new year is to memorize the book of Ephesians. Motivation for memorizing Scripture can be found in the following verse.

Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.
Psalm 119:11 (NASB)

The book of Ephesians is divided into six chapters and I am attempting to memorize one chapter every two months. This adds up to memorizing anywhere from 2-4 verses per week. Below I have outlined the memorization schedule for Ephesians 1.

Ephesians 1 {January/ February}

Week 1 (Jan.7)

:: Ephesians 1: 1-3

Week 2 (Jan. 14)

:: Ephesians 1: 4-6

Week 3 (Jan. 21)

:: Ephesians 1: 7-9

Week 4 (Jan. 28)

:: Ephesians 1: 10-12

Week 5 (Feb. 4)

:: Ephesians 1: 13-14

Week 6 (Feb. 11)

:: Ephesians 1: 15-17

Week 7 (Feb. 18)

:: Ephesians 1: 18-20

Week 8 (Feb. 25)

:: Ephesians 1: 21-23

Here are a few memorization tips:

1. Write the verses to be memorized on an index card.

2. Read the verses out loud.

3. Carry the index cards with you and review throughout the day.

4. Listen to the book of Ephesians. You can listen to the Bible for free at Audio Bible or there are free Bible apps you can download, too.

5. On days six and seven of each week go back and review the verses from the previous weeks.

6. Review, review, review!

Remember– Don’t get frustrated if you can’t keep up with this plan. {I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep up myself! I haven’t done anything like this in a long time.} It is better to memorize at a slower pace than to give up completely.

Are you with me on this memorization journey? Please let me know in the comments.

I will post the memorization plan for chapter 2 at the end of February.
