A Homemade Christmas ~ Angel Ornaments

Angel Ornament Tutorial

On Sunday evening I had a little craft session and made these little angel ornaments. I came across this adorable idea in the December 2012 FamilyFun Magazine. {FYI- I’ve found so many great ideas in the FamilyFun Magazines. My first subscription was a gift, but I will definitely pay for a renewal. Right now you can renew for only $5/year.}

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 3/4″ wood beads
  • white stiff felt
  • white feathers
  • gold pipe cleaner
  • crochet yarn
  • black and red thin point markers
  • brown paint
  • paintbrush
  • hot glue gun

1. Use markers to create eyes and mouth.

2. Paint on the hair. {I used a pipe cleaner to hold up the head.}

3. Twist a halo out of gold pipe cleaner. Take an eight inch piece of crochet yarn, loop and tie together.

4. Insert the yarn loop into the top hole. Put some hot glue into the hole. Insert the halo.

5. Cut a triangle out of the stiff white felt. Cut two feathers to angel-wing-size. Glue the feathers to the back of the felt triangle.

6. Add glue to the tip of the triangle and insert into the bottom of the angel head.

Hang on your tree and ENJOY!
