Guilford Courthouse National Military Park

Yesterday, we returned from a relaxing few days in Greensboro, NC where we visited with family. During past visits we checked out many area attractions but had not visited Guilford Courthouse National Military Park yet. Since we’ve discovered the wonderful Junior Ranger program offered by the National Park Service we decided to go learn a little Revolutionary War history.

Kerenhappuch Turner Monument (any guess where that name comes from?)

The park had a wonderful museum with many artifacts recovered from the battlefield. They also show a movie that is very well done. It was helpful for understanding exactly what happened during the battle and how it changed the Revolutionary War.

  • That’s really cool! Especially the “Kerenhappuch” monument. My first name is Keren, but my parents didn’t feel the need to leave on the -happuch ending. :) I’d never heard of Kerenhappuch Turner.
