Cupcake Decorating Party

Kids love working in the kitchen. So, why not host a cupcake decorating party? On Friday, the Bible club girls had a great time rotating through stations making fun and tasty cupcakes.

Here’s how it worked.

1. Choose several decorating options.

There are tons of creative and fun ideas out there. Pinterest anyone? (By the way, you can follow me here :)) Here’s a collection of easy cupcake decorating ideas I came across. I chose four options for our party. You’ll notice that they don’t really fit a theme, but you could easily do that.

Ice Cream

Sunshine

Caterpillar

Fishies

2. Make a sample.

To make things easy prepare samples for the kids to copy. When it’s time to get started gather the kids around and explain the steps for decorating each cupcake. You could even print out and laminate instructions and keep them at each station for the kids to follow.

3. Gather supplies and set up stations.

I used our kitchen counter to set up stations. At each station I placed a decorated sample plus the required icing and toppings. This helped things go very smooth as I wasn’t searching for supplies and was available to help.

Our party was a success! The girls decorated enough cupcakes to enjoy at the party and to supply their families at home.

I’d love to stay connected.
