Weight Loss Update – 24.4 lbs. to go

2nd Weigh-in

As you can see, the numbers aren’t as good this time around. Honestly, I’m just glad they went down, even if it was just a little.

John and I had a difficult two weeks of eating healthy and staying away from sweets. I did better toward the end of the second week, knowing I would have to report to you, my faithful readers. Thanks for keeping me motivated!

Looking back, I believe there were […]

Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff

Sunday lunch at my Grammy’s was something we always looked forward to. She was famous for her beef stroganoff. Today, I tried out this healthier Beef Stroganoff recipe. I served it with mashed potatoes (like my Grammy did) instead of the egg noodles.

It was so good and I will definitely be making this again!

Chuch Bulletin Board – Winter Theme

Winter Bulletin Board

The kids and I are responsible for keeping a couple of bulletin boards at church up to date. Here’s the winter theme we put up today.

Pin it here.

Our jumping off point was this verse found in Ps. 51:7 …Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.

We added quilters batting for snow, a couple of snowmen and the snowflakes we made last week.

I came across this caramel apple oatmeal cookie recipe that is great for those of us trying to lose weight. Each cookie has only 83 calories! A nice treat for those times you’re craving a little something sweet.

The recipe was quite simple to follow. The only ingredients I did not have on hand were the dried apples and caramel bits. I was able to find them at a local fruit and nut […]

Coupon Clipping Tip

Coupon ClippinG

Every Sunday afternoon I spend time clipping and organizing my coupons. A few weeks ago, I came across a new to me method for clipping duplicate coupon inserts. I usually end up with four of the same insert each week. I decided to give it a try and it has turned out to be a huge time saver.

First, I separate and match up all the pages.

Then I staple the like pages together. […]

Quick Tip #8 – How to Thaw Soup stored in Freezer Bags

Thaw Stew

Here’s a simple way to thaw frozen soup without using a microwave. It’s less messy, at least for me.

Submerge your bag of soup in a sink filled with hot tap water.

An hour or so later, it should be ready to be warmed up on the stove or in the microwave. Easy!
